Yosemite Wildflowers – Photos of Dazzling Summer Color
What a breathtaking sight to see…the park’s meadows and trails come alive with seasonal color. Here is a photo gallery of Yosemite wildflowers for you to browse. I have tried to include bloom locations for your convenience as well.
Pink Mountain Pride Wildflowers
These vibrant flowers were photographed along the May Lake trail, in the Tioga Road alpine high country. I thought they provided a striking, colorful backdrop for Half Dome in the distance.
As you can see, there were a few other wildflower varieties here as well, though I’m not sure what they are. Check out my May Lake album for a few others I photographed at the shore.
Purple Shooting Star Flowers – Yosemite Wildflowers
These lanky Shooting Star flowers were found in Crane Flat Meadow, in early June I believe. This is probably one of the best and most accessible locations in the park.
Common Madia – Yosemite Wildflowers
Technically these colorful scenes were shot outside the park, just off Evergreen Road. It was early July, and the hills had really come alive! I used my Canon super zoom to take these pics.
The elevation here was probably about 4,500 or 5,000ft, and there were some beautiful blue and purple lupines mixed in as well. Speaking of which…
Lupine Flowers
These elegant and unique wildflower “towers” can be found in the foothills and even the higher elevations in the park. While I did see these along Evergreen Road as well, I believe this particular bunch was photographed in the Tuolumne River canyon, near Lumsden Road.
